If you love carnivorous plants, you might want to get involved in some of the following initiatives. Think very well about the final target and utility of your passion, considering how the plants that you happily grow in your room are being destroyed day after day in their natural habitat.

-Meadowview: the ONLY project specifically created to buy and restore carnivorous plants ecosystems, unfortunately limited to Virginia and Maryland. We would need a Meadowview for every state of the planet.

-Go Peat-Free: a very good list of peat alternatives suggested by the UKCPS. Peat is good for carnivorous plants, but where do you think the peat you use is collected from?

-Nepenthes clipeata Survival Project: developing a conservation strategy for a species that has a very low probability of surviving in the wild.

-ICPS Conservation Projects: working to conserve wild habitat for the future. Don’t forget to check out their “Success stories”!

-UKCPS Conservation Fund: the Society guarantees an amount of money that will be made available each year for conservation purposes. Read about the projects they support.
